Abstract
The Hubble tension, a mismatch between locally measured and CMB-inferred universe expansion rates, is a major cosmological problem. Many proposed solutions focus on reducing the sound horizon at recombination (rs). This paper demonstrates that models solely reducing rs cannot fully resolve the Hubble tension while remaining consistent with other cosmological datasets. Models achieving a higher Hubble constant with lower matter density (Ωmh²) conflict with baryon acoustic oscillation (BAO) observations, while models with larger Ωmh² conflict with galaxy weak lensing data.
