Abstract
This paper introduces a new dataset, the Austronesian Game Taxonomy, containing ethnographic and historical information on 907 games played in Austronesian-speaking cultural groups. The dataset addresses limitations of previous cross-cultural game studies by providing accessible raw data and a novel typology of game cooperativeness based on goal structures. Researchers can utilize this resource to examine cross-cultural variations in game cooperativeness and further understand human cultural behavior.
