Abstract
This paper demonstrates real-time tracking of collective electron oscillations in an Au bowtie nanoantenna by recording photo-assisted tunneling currents. The oscillations show a non-instantaneous response with a T2 decay time of ~8 femtoseconds. Linear and nonlinear contributions to the tunneling currents were determined, and phase control of electron oscillations was illustrated. This work paves the way for on-chip light-wave electronics in quantum nanodevices.
