Abstract
This study investigates the connotations and features of the sense of place in Chinese songs from 1912 to 2019, examining how these changed across regions and time periods. The sense of place shifted from primarily patriotic (1912-1949) and socialist (1950-1979), focusing on historical sites, to market-driven (1980-2009) and finally to a more complex, individualistic representation (2010-2019) reflecting personal experiences and events. The study reveals an evolution from shared collective memory to more personal expressions of place attachment.
