Abstract
This paper introduces a novel tooth whitening strategy using piezo-catalysis. Traditional hydrogen peroxide-based methods, while effective, can damage enamel and cause irritation. This new approach replaces abrasive particles in toothpaste with piezoelectric particles (BaTiO₃ nanoparticles). Ultrasonic vibration during brushing generates reactive oxygen species, which degrade organic dyes and whiten teeth. Tests show significant whitening with minimal enamel damage and cytotoxicity, offering a safer and more convenient alternative.
