Neural mechanisms of metacognitive improvement under speed pressure

Under tight deadlines people became faster and less accurate, yet showed improved metacognition. Time-resolved EEG during a motion-discrimination task revealed larger centro-parietal positivity (CPP) and a stronger relationship between post-decisional CPP and metacognitive ratings for errors under short deadlines.
