This study integrates corpus linguistics (CL) and discourse analysis (DA) to analyze the discursive representation of the British economy in parliamentary speeches from 1900-2020. The integration aimed to mitigate biases inherent in each approach when used in isolation. The analysis revealed that parliamentarians concentrated on two main discourses: finance and hardship. Three semantic categories emerged: alleviation, scale, and source of economic issues.
