This study examines the role of humorous, benevolent monsters in children's plays, analyzing how they help children reconsider their views of monsters and understand their own fears and needs. Two plays, *The Monsters under the Bed* and *The Boy Who Loved Monsters and the Girl Who Loved Peas*, are analyzed using humor studies, monster studies, and child psychology to explore how theatrical elements and verbal/visual signs portray these friendly monsters and their impact on the child protagonists.
