This paper presents direct observations of lightning-induced electron precipitation (LEP) at MeV energies in the Earth's inner radiation belt. These observations bridge the gap between near-Earth processes (lightning) and radiation belt processes (relativistic electron microbursts), revealing a previously unobserved coupling between Earth weather and space weather.
