This study investigated the efficacy of an integrated cognitive-physical fitness intervention (Body-Brain Trainer, BBT) in enhancing attention abilities in older adults. Older adults participating in two months of BBT showed improvements in physical fitness (blood pressure and balance) and attention (behavioral and neural metrics). These improvements surpassed those of an expectancy-matched active control group and were sustained one year later. Post-training, the BBT group's attention performance even exceeded that of a young adult group, demonstrating age-equilibration of a neural signature of attention (midline frontal theta power). The findings suggest that integrated cognitive-physical training platforms hold promise for cognitive and physical enhancement in older adults.
