Abstract
This research paper introduces an injectable hydrogel electrode designed to address ventricular arrhythmias, a leading cause of sudden cardiac death. The hydrogel, delivered via catheter, fills coronary veins, creating flexible electrodes reaching the mid-myocardium. In a pig model, the electrode successfully paced the heart, exhibiting QRS morphology similar to native sinus rhythm. Electroanatomical mapping showed faster activation than conventional pacing, suggesting potential for eliminating lethal arrhythmias and enabling painless defibrillation.
