This article investigates the competencies needed for effective knowledge translation in implementation research (IR), particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). A modified Delphi methodology, involving literature review, expert interviews, virtual dialogues, and peer review, identified key areas needing improvement in IR training curricula. These include multidisciplinary teamwork, stakeholder engagement, and communication of research findings to decision-makers. The study concludes that knowledge translation in IR is a multifaceted process requiring varied competencies, many of which are inadequately addressed in existing training programs.
