I am where I believe my body is: The interplay between body spatial prediction and body ownership
F. Frisco, V. Bruno, et al.
Does sensing where your body is determine whether it feels like yours? Comparing the virtual Rubber Hand and first-person full-body illusions, the authors found that misalignment—especially of the legs—weakens ownership and can produce disownership, with perceived body position recalibrating toward the misaligned avatar. Research conducted by Francesca Frisco, Vito Bruno, Daniele Romano, and Giorgia Tosi.
