This study analyzes the evolution of gender roles in Spanish society through an intergenerational project called “Women in the focus”. 75 women from three generations reflected on gender roles and expectations using three Spanish films from different decades and 21 focus groups. Qualitative content analysis revealed that feminist thought impacted Spanish women differently across generations, highlighting discrepancies in expectations and challenges faced. Film and focus groups proved effective in facilitating dialogue and promoting empathy among women from different generations.
