Abstract
This study investigated the factors influencing contactless payment acceptance in Malaysia. Using the Technology Readiness Index 2.0 and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 models, a Contactless Payment Acceptance model was constructed. A survey of 434 Malaysian adults revealed that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, lack of awareness, and discomfort were the most significant predictors of contactless payment acceptance (R-squared = 71.2%). These findings have implications for service providers and guide future research on promoting contactless payment adoption in developing countries.
