This paper explores the possibility of time travel within the framework of quantum gravity, specifically focusing on the concept of emergent time. The authors address the "problem of time" in quantum gravity and utilize the Page-Wootters formalism and the positive operator-valued measure (POVM) approach to investigate a toy model of two non-interacting harmonic oscillators subject to a Hamiltonian constraint. The analysis reveals a surprisingly simple, self-consistent, yet uneventful model, highlighting the potential for further research into the interplay between emergent time and the possibility of time travel in more complex quantum systems.
