Abstract

This study investigated the effect of plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) biostimulants (*Azotobacter chroococcum*, *Bacillus subtilis*, *Bacillus megatherium*, and their mixes) and application methods (foliar and soil) on maize growth, physiology, yield, and seed quality. *A. chroococcum* increased chlorophyll content, photosynthetic rate, and transpiration rate. Soil application of *B. megatherium* and a mix of *A. chroococcum* and *B. subtilis* yielded the highest maize yields. Soil application increased maize yield by 5.5–13.4%. *B. subtilis* increased total solids and crude fiber content in seeds. PGPB use shows promise for sustainable maize cultivation.
