This paper analyzes research developments in 'language and linguistics' across 13 Asian countries (China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey) from 2000-2021, using 30,515 articles. The analysis considers productivity, authorship and collaborations, keywords, and research impact. Results show these 13 countries produced 85% of Asian research in this field. China, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan were most prolific, publishing heavily in international journals, while Indonesia, Iran, and Malaysia focused more on regional journals. Research on national languages was prevalent, with increasing interest in English since 2010. High levels of collaboration were found within Asia and with Western countries.
