Abstract
This case report details the diagnosis and treatment of an aneurysmal bone cyst (ABC) with a pathologic fracture in a six-year-old male. The patient presented with left leg pain that progressed to an inability to ambulate. Radiography revealed an ill-defined lytic lesion with a pathologic fracture in the proximal left femur. Orthopedic surgery performed an open reduction and internal fixation, curettage of the cyst, and filling of the cystic space with an injectable inductive graft and crushed cancellous bone. The pathology confirmed the diagnosis of an ABC. The case highlights the importance of thorough evaluation of pediatric patients with lower extremity pain and the multidisciplinary approach to managing ABCs.
