This study investigates the impact of macroeconomic factors on stock market indices in five ASEAN countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines) from 2012 to 2022, including the COVID-19 pandemic period. Using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM), the study finds a positive correlation between the ASEAN-5 market index and consumer price index (CPI) and industrial production index (IPI), and a negative correlation with interest rates and exchange rates. These findings offer insights for investment decisions and policymaking.
