Abstract
This paper demonstrates a high-performance structural color using a silicon metasurface. Conventional silicon metasurfaces suffer from broadband reflection and a small color gamut. By incorporating a refractive index matching layer, the researchers significantly improved brightness and color purity, achieving a gamut exceeding sRGB, Adobe RGB, and approaching Rec.2020. The high refractive index of silicon also enabled diffraction-limit resolution.
