Abstract
Detecting faint magnetic fields from single-electron and nuclear spins at the atomic scale is challenging. This paper presents a single-molecule quantum sensor fabricated at the apex of a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) tip by attaching Fe atoms and a PTCDA molecule. Using electron spin resonance (ESR), the sensor achieves ~100 neV energy resolution and measures magnetic and electric dipole fields from a single Fe atom and an Ag dimer with sub-angstrom spatial resolution. The method enables atomic-scale quantum sensing experiments on conducting surfaces and has potential applications in various fields.
