๐ About GEEP - Youth Innovation Challenge
The Taiwan Ocean Conservation Administration (OCA) and Global Environment Education Partnership (GEEP) invite young people aged 15โ30 from around the world to propose innovative solutions to tackle marine issues. These solutions should:
- Provide healthy habitats for marine life.
- Protect human health.
- Support people of all ages to become engaged stewards of marine environments.
Key Focus Areas
Proposals should be:
- Informed by research
- Feasible and measurable
- Innovative
- Address one of this yearโs key topics using environmental education
๐ Benefits of GEEP - Youth Innovation Challenge
All eligible proposals will be evaluated by a panel of experts specializing in environmental education, community engagement, and marine conservation.
Finalist Benefits
A total of 15 YIC finalists will receive:
- An official YIC finalist certificate.
- Recognition through GEEP, NAAEE, and other global partnersโ websites and social media pages.
Winner Benefits
From the 15 finalists, 3 winners will be selected. Each winner will receive:
- $1,000 USD prize.
- An invitation to attend the YIC award ceremony in Taipei, Taiwan in September 2026 (all travel expenses covered).
โ Eligibility Criteria
The challenge is intended for young leaders and innovators aged 15โ30. Proposals must provide solutions to one of the following key areas using environmental education:

Reducing waste and marine debris:
- Actions to mitigate the effects of marine debris and waste, including monitoring, clean-up, and recycling.

Community and societal impact strategies:
- Educating communities on how they can address marine debris issues.

Global marine protection:
- Advancing marine protection through collaboration, partnerships, and policy.
