Are you a woman with leadership potential? Applications are now open for the WomenLift Health Southern Africa Leadership Journey 2026 Program. This fully funded, 12-month program is designed to empower women leaders in health by providing a safe space for growth, mentorship, and skill development.

📖 About WomenLift Health Southern Africa Leadership Journey

The WomenLift Health Southern Africa Leadership Journey is a fully funded, 12-month program aimed at supporting talented women leaders in health. The program offers:

  • A safe space for exploring authentic leadership through vulnerability and reflection.
  • An inclusive and diverse network fostering a strong sense of belonging.
  • Tools and strategies to enhance voice, presence, and influence.
  • Support from peers, mentors, and coaches.

Participants will gain contextualized tools and frameworks to address individual, organizational, and societal challenges faced by women leaders in global health.

  • A 2-day Lift-Off session (February 17–18, 2027) to reflect on lessons learned.

Program Dates

  • Duration: March 2026 – February 2027.
  • All touchpoints are mandatory, while JourneyPLUS events are optional.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Identify as a woman.
  • Mid-Career Leader: 10–25 years of work experience or mid-career status in their institution.
  • Residency: Citizen residing and working in one of the following countries:
    • Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, eSwatini, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
  • Work Focus: Public health policy, practice, and/or research at a national or regional level.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluency and confidence in written and verbal English communication.

📅 Program Details

  • Duration: March 2026 – February 2027
  • Format: Hybrid (virtual and in-person elements)
  • Cost: Free (all program costs, including travel and lodging, are covered)

📝 Application Process

The application process requires 2–3 hours to complete in one sitting. You may save your progress and return later. A complete application must include:

  1. A current CV or resume.
  2. A letter of recommendation.
  3. A description and outline of a health leadership project you plan to pursue during the program.
