Women and Girls in Astronomy Program 2026
The Women and Girls in Astronomy Program (WGAP) by NA-ROAD is now accepting applications for its 2026 cohort. This program aims to fund ten projects that use astronomy as a tool for development, focusing on promoting, supporting, and uplifting women, girls, and underrepresented genders in the field.
π About the Program
The WGAP initiative encourages projects that align with at least one of NA-ROADβs five Strategic Goals. Projects must take place in Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico, or Greenland. Applicants are encouraged to approach astronomy from diverse perspectives, including but not limited to:
- Scientific
- Social
- Technical
- Cultural
- Artistic

- Selected projects will receive $2,000 USD mini-grants.
- Project leaders will become part of the WGAP network, gaining access to resources and a supportive community.
