β Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified scholars of any nationality or institutional affiliation are eligible.
- Independent scholars and senior scholars are welcome to apply.
- Individuals within 5 months of receiving their doctorate or equivalent degree may apply, but they must complete their degree before the start date listed on their application form.
- Most grantees must fulfill all requirements of their existing award and submit their final report before applying for a new award.
- Applicants with a Conference and Workshop Grant, Global Initiatives Grant, or Historical Archives Program grant may apply. Contact the foundation for more information if this applies.
- Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to reapply but must explain how they have addressed reviewersβ concerns and any changes to their plans.

- A resubmission statement (if a previous application was declined).
- A detailed Plan A budget (Best-case scenario).
