The Ute and György Széll International Scholarship is designed to support outstanding international PhD students in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities. This scholarship offers a unique opportunity for a six-month stay at a German university, research institute, foundation, or archive.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung Ute and György Széll International PhD-Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Enrollment in a PhD programme in the fields of Social Sciences or Humanities
- Submission of:
- A research plan (3 pages) describing the doctoral project, including its context in career development
- A research paper outlining the topic, questions, methodology, and goals of the research in Germany (3 pages)
- An invitation letter from the host PhD supervisor in Germany, confirming on-site support and integration into local and national research contexts
- An assessment by the PhD supervisor at the applicant's home institution
- A CV in table form
- A Diploma entitling the applicant to pursue a doctorate
- The completed application form
