✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify as a candidate:
- The individual must be under 40 years old.
- Their social science research work must address themes related to the Latin America and Caribbean region.
- Nationality of the candidate is not a factor.
📅 Application Date and Process
- Nominations may be submitted in English, French, or Spanish by:
- Governments of Member States (in consultation with their National Commissions).
- Non-governmental organizations maintaining official relations with UNESCO and active in a field covered by the Prize.
- Self-nominations are not accepted.
Required Documents for Nomination:
- A description of the candidate’s background and achievements.
- A summary of the work or results of the work, publications, and other supporting documents of major importance.
- A statement specifying the candidate’s contribution to the Prize’s objectives.
Submission Guidelines:
- Nominations must be submitted through your National Commission and not on an individual basis.
- The deadline for nominations is 15 February 2026 at midnight (GMT+1, Paris time).
- Submissions must be duly signed and stamped and sent via email to:
