The UK Young Academy encourages applications from individuals who meet the following criteria. Even if you don’t meet all the requirements, you are encouraged to apply if you are passionate about their mission.

1. Early Career Stage

   • Open to forward-thinking, innovative, and proactive individuals from all sectors, including entrepreneurs, researchers, engineers, artists, lawyers, teachers, clinicians, and more.

2. Experience

   • Typically, applicants will have 3–12 years of experience in their field post-qualification or professional work.
   • Career paths with twists and turns are welcomed, and demonstrated excellence and leadership are key.

3. Track Record of Excellence

   • Applicants should have a history of significant contributions to their field, such as awards, leadership roles, or impactful projects.

4. Residency in the UK

   • Applicants must reside in the UK or be UK citizens.
   • UK citizens currently based overseas are eligible but must demonstrate their ability to commit to the academy's activities.
