• Health Benefits:
  All participants will receive the Department of State’s Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges (ASPE) health benefit, which provides coverage up to $100,000, with:
  • $25 copay per medical visit
  • $75 copay per emergency room visit
    Pre-existing conditions may be covered up to $100,000, subject to policy exclusions and limitations.

✅ SUSIs for Secondary Educators Summer Requirements

The U.S. Embassy seeks high-achieving, mid-career professionals committed to international education.

Target Roles:

• Secondary school teachers (working with students aged 14–18)
• School administrators and education specialists
• Teacher trainers and curriculum developers
• Textbook authors and Ministry of Education officials

Mandatory Requirements:

• English Proficiency: Must have professional-level English fluency for active participation in postgraduate seminars.
• Career Stage: Mid-career professionals with a clear plan to implement American Studies in their home institutions.
• Residency: Must be a resident of Romania. U.S. citizens and permanent residents (green card holders) are not eligible.
• Commitment: Ability to attend the full five-week program without family or friends accompanying them.

Priority Candidates:

• Those with little or no prior experience in the United States.
• Those with a demonstrated plan to create or improve U.S.-focused courses or textbooks.
