This prestigious program aims to empower African women professionals to drive policy and programmatic changes for equitable agri-food systems in sub-Saharan Africa.
π About the SHEAF Fellowship
The SHEAF Fellowship will:
- Build a vibrant network of African women professionals from various disciplines.
- Focus on driving policy and programmatic changes for equitable agri-food systems in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Select up to 25 Fellows, with a special emphasis on women working in AGRA-supported organizations and programs.

- Mentoring, coaching, and peer learning support to enhance skills in designing and implementing gender-responsive agrifood systems policies and programs.
β Eligibility Criteria
The SHEAF Fellowship is open to African women who meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship: Must be citizens of Kenya, Malawi, or Senegal.
- Education: Holds at least a masterβs degree in a relevant discipline related to agrifood systems.
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in agrifood systems-related areas.
- Gender Focus: Demonstrated interest and contribution to addressing gender issues in agrifood systems.
- Employment: Employed in organizations such as:
- National and international organizations in agrifood systems.
- Private sector, civil society, non-governmental organizations, farmersβ organizations.
- Government ministries and agencies, regional and subregional organizations, or academia.
- Language Proficiency: Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Commitment: Willingness to fully participate in the 18-month program, including online and in-person activities.
- Residency: Must reside in Kenya, Malawi, or Senegal for the entire duration of the Fellowship.
- Exclusivity: Must not be a Fellow of any other programs offered by AWARD.
