π About the Fellowship
The Faculty for the Future Fellowship aims to contribute to building a more balanced and sustainable future by addressing the most pressing global challenges. Fellows' scientific contributions align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, spanning areas such as health, biodiversity, and building materials.

π Benefits
- Grants are based on actual costs for eligible expenses:
- Up to USD $50,000 per year for a PhD.
- Up to USD $40,000 per year for Post-doctoral research.
- Grants may be renewed through the completion of studies, subject to:
- Performance.
- Recommendations from supervisors.
- Strong evidence of reintegration plans in the home country.
β Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Gender and Citizenship:
- Be a woman and a citizen of a developing country or emerging economy where women are underrepresented in STEM disciplines.
- Applicants with dual citizenship, including citizenship of a developed country, are not eligible.

Degree Requirements:
- Be preparing for a PhD degree or post-doctoral research in a STEM field.
- Masterβs level studies are not funded.

University Enrollment:
- Be enrolled, admitted, or have applied to a host university/research institute abroad.
- For sandwich courses, the final degree must be awarded by the host university abroad or jointly (not solely by the home country university).

Academic and Professional Background:
- Hold an excellent academic record.
- Have a proven record of teaching experience in the home country.
- Demonstrate leadership skills and active community outreach.

Commitment to Home Country:
- Be willing to return to the home country or region upon completion of studies to contribute to its socio-economic development.
- Commit to:
- An academic or research position in a STEM faculty.
- Using knowledge to become a STEM entrepreneur to address regional challenges.
- Contributing to public sector STEM policy-making, including gender representation.

Inspiring Women in STEM:
- Demonstrate a track record of encouraging girls and women into STEM fields.
Note: Applications that do not meet these criteria will not be retained in the selection process.

A successful application will go through four selection rounds, with reviewers focusing on the following criteria:
- Academic performance.
- Quality of references.
- Quality of the host country university.
- Level of commitment to return to the home country.
- Commitment to teaching, STEM entrepreneurship, or policy-making.
- Relevance of research to the home country.
- Commitment to inspiring girls and women into STEM.
