The SADC Media Awards, established in 1996, are open to journalists from SADC Member States. The awards celebrate excellence in media coverage that disseminates information on SADC and supports the region's development goals.

🎁 Benefits of SADC Media Awards

  • First Prize: US$2,500 for the winner in each category.
  • Runner-up Prize: US$1,000 for the second-place winner in each category.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the SADC Media Awards, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Open to journalists from SADC Member States.
  • Entries must have been published or broadcast in 2025 by registered media houses or agencies.
  • Themes must focus on regional integration issues, such as:
    • Infrastructure
    • Economy
    • Culture
    • Sports
    • Agriculture
  • Exclusions: Staff of the SADC Secretariat and institutions contracted by SADC are not eligible to apply.
