✅ Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be early-career artists in fields such as visual arts, filmmaking, poetry, novel writing, playwriting, design, directing, or performance art.
- Applicants need not be U.S. citizens.
- Holders of Ph.D. degrees from Princeton University are not eligible.
- Past recipients of the Hodder Fellowship and individuals with a sustained and continuous relationship with Princeton University are not eligible.
- Those with occasional or sporadic relationships with Princeton may apply.

- How you propose to use the two years of the fellowship to develop your work (250 words).
- What you might teach, direct, or choreograph with undergraduates as part of your fellowship (250 words).
- Your approach to building community with your artistic practice, teaching, and/or research (250 words).

- Note: Recommenders should not send letters. The search committee will contact them directly if needed.

Work Samples with a 150-word statement explaining their relevance to your proposal:
- Creative Writing:
- Prose: Up to 3,000 words.
- Poetry: Up to 20 pages.
- If submitting both prose and poetry: Up to 2,000 words (prose) and 10 pages (poetry).
- Dance (Choreography):
- 1–3 links to at least 15 minutes of continuous footage (rehearsals, research, or performances).
- Music:
- 1–2 scores and/or links to 10 minutes of performance. Video optional.
- Theater:
- Up to 15 pages of writing samples and/or up to 10 design images (photos or renderings) and/or video/audio reel with cue points.
- Visual Arts:
- Up to 20 still images OR up to 10 minutes of video OR a combination of 10 still images and 5 minutes of video.
