📖 About the Nuffield Foundation Racial Diversity UK Fund
The UK’s racial composition has transformed significantly since the arrival of the Empire Windrush in 1948. Today, the growing racial diversity and persistent racial disparities present both opportunities and challenges.
While there is substantial research on racial inequalities across various sectors (e.g., health, housing, education, employment, crime, and justice), there is limited evidence on:
- Why some racial disparities persist while others have closed.
- What works to eliminate racial disparities.
- When, how, or if policy and program interventions are effective.
The Racial Diversity UK Fund aims to address these gaps by supporting research that explores racial diversity, racialisation, resources, and power dynamics shaped by the UK's colonial past. This includes all racial or ethnic groups living in the UK, including White populations.
