🌟 About the Fellowship
Sahara Consult, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, has launched applications for the 2026 Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship following the success of the previous two cohorts. This program targets growth-stage, impact-driven EdTech companies in Tanzania that are enhancing educational outcomes through innovation.
Fellows from previous cohorts benefited from:
- Tailored support to scale their companies.
- Increased sales and profitability.
- Access to funding.
- Collaborations with the Mastercard Foundation and other ecosystem actors.
The 2026 Fellowship continues this mission, empowering Tanzanian EdTech companies to advance inclusive learning and create lasting impact for youth, women, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities.
🎁 Benefits of the Fellowship
Participants in the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship will receive the following benefits:
- Customized Technical Support: Guidance to improve product quality, performance, and scalability.
- Personalized Business Mentorship: Coaching to refine strategy and strengthen operations.
- Regulatory Engagement Support: Assistance in navigating education and technology regulations.
- Strategic Partnerships: Access to investors, schools, industry leaders, and policy actors.
- Growth-Hacking Support: Tools to expand the user base to 8,000–10,000 learners.
- Access to CMU Online Courses: Free short courses from Carnegie Mellon University.
- Equity-Free Funding: Up to USD 70,000 with no ownership taken.
- One-Year Post-Acceleration Support: Continued mentorship and visibility after graduation.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the fellowship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a growth-stage, impact-driven EdTech company based in Tanzania.
- Focus on enhancing educational outcomes through innovation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to advancing inclusive learning for youth, women, persons with disabilities, and underserved communities.
- Provide the following certified official documents:
- BRELA Certificate.
- TIN (Tax Identification Number).
- Business License.

- All attached documents (e.g., BRELA Certificate, TIN, Business License) must be legit and certified copies of originals.
