The Livestock and Communities for One Health in the Mekong initiative is now accepting applications. This program aims to strengthen community-level capacity and regional cooperation on One Health in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Laos.
📝 About the Initiative
The LIVECOM grant will:
- Map risks and institutional responses.
- Build inclusive multi-stakeholder platforms.
- Pilot community initiatives on disease prevention, antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and environmental health.
- Provide training and extension support.
- Generate knowledge products and lessons learned.
- Facilitate South-South learning exchanges.
- Develop an investment strategy to guide IFAD and partners in scaling up effective community-based One Health approaches.
The program ensures strong participation of women, youth, and marginalized groups.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
The service provider for the LIVECOM grant will be selected through a competitive process. The following minimum requirements will be evaluated on a pass/fail basis:
- A registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), international NGO, Multilateral Organization, or Academia/Research Institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in:
- Project Management: Expertise in managing and executing projects focused on One Health or interdisciplinary programs in rural areas.
- Facilitating Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven track record of collaboration among diverse actors such as community organizations, government institutions, academia, civil societies, rural communities, and international agencies.
- Engagement with Local Actors: Capacity to engage effectively with local actors in the 4 countries included in the proposal, including training and participatory approaches tailored to local needs.
- Strong financial management, monitoring, and reporting capacity.
- Experience in South-East Asia (preferably with additional regional connections).
