  • Support individuals involved in local charitable and non-profit organizations.
  • Provide funding for professional development opportunities to enhance leadership skills.

  • Total funding pool: $10,000
  • Maximum grant amount: $5,000 per recipient

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Kathy Barnett Leadership Grant, applicants must:

  • Be a woman, Two Spirit, gender-diverse, non-binary, or trans person residing in Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, or Mt Currie areas.
  • Work or volunteer for a registered charity with the CRA or a non-profit registered with BC Societies.
  • Exhibit community involvement, leadership, consideration for others, and outstanding personal qualities.
  • Preferably pursue opportunities related to journalism or business.
  • Wish to pursue a professional development opportunity, such as:
    • Post-secondary education
    • Workshops
    • Seminars
    • Other educational opportunities
  • Use the skills and experiences gained to improve the quality of life in the Whistler, Pemberton, or Mt Currie areas.
  • Have lived and worked in the area for at least one year and plan to remain in or return to the area after completing the program.
