📖 About the Program
The JPL Year-Round Internship Program provides part-time and full-time internship opportunities during the academic year and summer. It is open to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
Key Features:
- Students are paired with JPL scientists or engineers who serve as mentors.
- Interns work on designated projects, gaining hands-on experience in their fields of study while contributing to NASA and JPL missions.
- Participants engage in enrichment activities such as tours, lectures, and career advisement organized by the JPL Education Office.
Application Review Process:
- Applications are reviewed by the JPL Education Office to ensure eligibility.
- Potential mentors review applications to identify finalists.
- Finalists are interviewed by prospective mentors.
- Mentors may request the Education Office to issue offers to selected applicants.

- Supplemental housing and travel allowances for full-time, in-person participants whose institutions are located outside a 50-mile radius of JPL.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the program, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students pursuing STEM degrees at accredited U.S. universities.
- Attend colleges or universities that allow off-campus, independent study during academic terms or summers.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (3.5 is preferred).
- Be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (LPRs).
- Commit to a minimum 10-week internship for their first experience (subsequent terms are flexible).
