The Japanese Award for Most Innovative Development Project (MIDP) 2025 invites non-profit NGOs and CSOs to submit project proposals that support improved service delivery and innovative approaches. The award targets projects currently in the implementation stage and with high potential for impact, particularly for marginalized and disadvantaged groups in developing countries (as recognized by the World Bank as low- and middle-income countries).

The awards will recognize projects that:
- Respond directly to the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable groups, aiming for rapid results to improve livelihoods.
- Support initiatives that lead to sustainable outcomes through the scaling-up of the project.

The winning projects will receive a total of US$ 125,000 in grants:
- Two first prize winners: US$ 50,000 each

Additionally, awardees will be paired with a Technical Advisor throughout the grant implementation process.
โ Eligibility Criteria
The MIDP is open to non-profit NGOs and CSOs from eligible countries. Key requirements include:
- Projects must be currently in the implementation stage and must have started on or before June 1, 2024.
- NGOs/CSOs must be eligible to receive funds from abroad according to their national legal framework (e.g., in India, the NGO/CSO must be FCRA compliant).
