• Maximum grant: £1,000 per applicant.
• Requests exceeding £1,000 may be considered only in exceptional cases.
• Funding covers costs directly associated with skill development or talent growth.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Residency:
   Young people residing within Bernicia’s operating area, including:

   • Northumberland
   • North Tyneside
   • Newcastle
   • Gateshead
   • South Tyneside
   • Sunderland
   • County Durham
   • Hartlepool
   • Redcar
   • Stockton-on-Tees
   • Middlesbrough
   • Darlington

2. Priority Groups:

   • Bernicia tenants.
   • Residents in areas where Bernicia has a strong local presence.

3. Funding History:

   • Applicants should not have received funding within the past three years (unless in exceptional circumstances).

4. Exclusions:

   • Funding is not available for personal business ventures or general welfare support.

Steps to Apply:

1. Submit Application Online:
   Complete the online form. Applicants will receive a reference number and a copy of their submission.

2. Review:
   The Community Foundation reviews applications and may contact applicants for additional information.

3. Decision:
   Bernicia Foundation trustees evaluate and finalize funding decisions.

4. Notification:
   Applicants are typically notified within ten weeks of the application closing date.

5. Monitoring & Reporting:
   Successful applicants must submit an end-of-grant report, including:

   • Impact of funding.
   • Progress against objectives.
   • Short evaluation of outcomes.
