🧠 About IBRO Exchange Fellowship Program

The IBRO Exchange Fellowships for neuroscience international internships are designed to cover travel and local expenses throughout the exchange period. Priority will be given to applicants from less developed and under-funded countries, while ensuring gender and regional diversity.

🎁 Benefits of IBRO Exchange Fellowship Program

  • Africa:

    • Exchange duration: Minimum 3 months
    • Maximum grant: $6,000 USD
    • Must use alongside host matching funds
  • Asia-Pacific – Short Exchange + Scientific Meeting:

    • Duration: Minimum 2 weeks, maximum 4 months
    • Grant: Up to $2,500 USD
  • Asia-Pacific – Classic Exchange:

    • Duration: 4–6 months
    • Grant: Up to $8,000 USD
  • Latin America:

    • Exchange duration: Minimum 4 months
    • Grant: Up to $7,500 USD
    • Host matching funds encouraged
  • US/Canada:

    • Exchange duration: Minimum 4 months
    • Grant: Up to $8,000 USD
    • Host matching funds encouraged

✅ IBRO Exchange Fellowship Program Requirements

  • Eligibility:

    • PhD neuroscience students or early-career postdoctoral fellows (within five years of starting postdoc).
    • Must reside in one of the eligible regions: Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Africa, or US/Canada.
    • Applicants from Europe must apply through the FENS/IBRO-PERC program.
  • Exchange Requirements:

    • Exchanges must occur in a different country than the home laboratory.
    • Host laboratories are required to provide matching funds.
