Hensall Co-op’s Strong Communities Initiative 2026 provides funding support to eligible not-for-profit organizations for projects that create long-term, meaningful impact in rural Canada. The program aims to strengthen communities by supporting projects that:

Deliver clear, measurable benefits

Priority Areas:

Community health and healthy living
Organizations with limited prior support from Hensall Co-op

🎁 Benefits of the Initiative

Successful applicant(s) will receive a $10,000 donation from Hensall Co-op.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Hensall Co-op Strong Communities Initiative, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Be a Canadian community-based not-for-profit organization in the Hensall Co-op trading area that supports the broader rural community.
Propose funding for a project that will have a long-term impact on the community (not for normal operations).
Ensure the project has a clear and measurable benefit to the rural community.
Address a strong need in the rural community (not for the benefit of a single individual).
Demonstrate the ability to sustain the initiative until the end of the project.
Priority will be given to organizations that:
- Have not received large-scale sponsorship/donation from Hensall Co-op in the past 5 years.
- Focus on community health and healthy living, as identified by Hensall Co-op employees.
The organization must:
- Be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency as a charity.
- Have a bank account in its own name.
- Have been operating for over 12 months.
