Opportunity Overview

Global Justice Youth is a national collective of young people building international solidarity with social movements and struggles for justice, particularly in the global south. This six-month internship offers a unique opportunity to develop activist and organizing skills in a professional setting while supporting the growth of the youth network.

πŸ“‹ About the Internship

As a Youth Activism Intern, you will:

  • Work closely with activists to ensure the network runs smoothly.
  • Develop campaign resources, communications, and support mechanisms.
  • Recruit new activists and advise them on their activities, including traveling across the country to meet them.
  • Participate in major youth activism projects such as:
    • Recruitment at university freshers’ fairs.
    • Follow-up events at universities in October and November.
    • Organizing the national youth network conference in early February.

This internship provides job-specific training in systems and processes, enabling you to gain skills in campaigning, event organization, and administrative work.

Salary and Grade

  • Based on the London Living Wage, the salary is Β£25,207 per year, pro rata for six months, plus a non-contributory pension.

Working Week

  • 35 hours per week (five days).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is expected, with time off in lieu provided.
  • Global Justice Now operates a flexi-time system.

Annual Leave

  • Full-time staff receive 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays annually.
  • Additional time off between Christmas and New Year.

Experience

Essential:

  • Some experience in activism.
