FAWE/Mastercard Technical and Vocational Education and Training Bursary Program 2026

📖 About the Program

The Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE) has partnered with the Mastercard Foundation to implement the Second Chance Pathways for Increased Access to Tertiary Education for Marginalised Young Women and Men / FAWE/Mastercard Foundation Programme Phase II.

Through FAWE Zimbabwe, there are 200 bursaries available (80% female and 20% male) for participants interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) related programs at selected Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Zimbabwe.

The program prioritizes participants facing the highest social and economic barriers, with 5-15% of the bursaries reserved for people with disabilities and refugees.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be aged between 15 and 25 years at the time of application.
• Meet the entry requirements of a TVET institution of their choice from the listed institutions.
• Recent secondary school graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
• Applicants should have sat for their Ordinary or Advanced Level examinations in schools located in any of Zimbabwe’s ten provinces.
• Must not be a current beneficiary of any other bursary or scholarship program.
• Applicants with disabilities, special needs, refugees, individuals infected or affected by HIV/AIDS, and orphans (partial or total) are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Must be applying for 2–3-year courses in STEM fields.
• Must apply for a STEM-related program at one of the following institutions:
  • Harare Polytechnic
  • Bulawayo Polytechnic
  • Mutare Polytechnic
  • Gweru Polytechnic
  • Kwekwe Polytechnic
  • Belvedere Technical Teachers College

📝 Application Process

1. Obtain Application Forms:

   • Forms can be collected from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education District Offices in Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces.
   • Alternatively, forms can be downloaded from here.

2. Apply Online:

   • Submit your application online via Google Forms.

3. Submit Completed Application Forms:

   • Submit your fully completed application form to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education District Offices in Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces.
