The programme aims to support new and innovative coding projects, as well as scale up existing initiatives that align with the priorities of EU Code Week. The Code4Europe consortium, which oversees EU Code Week, has established a funding system to support grassroots projects.

Objectives

The aim of this call is to identify and support coding projects at the local level that align with the mission of EU Code Week to promote coding, computational thinking, and digital skills across Europe.

Specific objectives include:

  • Promoting innovative and scalable coding activities
  • Supporting initiatives that integrate coding into educational contexts and promote inclusion
  • Encouraging local community engagement and cooperation between different actors
  • Prioritizing projects that reduce the gender gap and promote diversity in STEM education

🎁 Benefits

One selected project will receive funding of €7,500. The grant will be awarded based on the quality of applications, evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Clarity and understandability of the project proposal
  • Applicability
  • Desired effect
  • Alignment with the objectives of EU Code Week

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicant Requirements

The applicant organization must be based in Albania, Montenegro, or Serbia.

Applications can be made by:

  • Schools (through supporting associations)
  • Private organizations and programming clubs
  • Libraries and public institutions (through non-profit foundations)
  • Extracurricular learning centers, associations, or clubs in the field of coding and digital education
  • Organizations specializing in technology and algorithmic thinking

What Can Be Financed?

Funding can be used for:

  • Licenses for online tools
  • Learning materials for participants (e.g., worksheets, equipment)
  • Communication to reach potential participants (e.g., posters, flyers, online marketing)
  • Professional support for online activities (e.g., technical support)
  • Rent for premises required for technical infrastructure
  • Developing and testing innovative activities for digital skills
  • Expanding existing methods to new schools or regions
  • Promoting community involvement and awareness of digital literacy
  • Promoting coding and algorithmic thinking in schools
  • Inclusion of underrepresented groups (e.g., girls) in STEM fields
  • Integrating coding into core school subjects
  • Organizing practical workshops on robotics and programming
  • Creating educational resources for digital skills
  • Organizing hackathons, coding competitions, or digital skills activities
  • Creating or expanding local STEM clubs
  • Developing training for teachers on digital tools
  • Organizing peer teaching or mentoring in coding/STEM

Exclusion Criteria

The following projects will not receive funding:

  • Projects not developed and implemented in Albania, Serbia, or Montenegro
  • Political or religious initiatives
  • Projects benefiting specific individuals only
  • Projects with no substantive connection to EU Code Week
  • Projects/activities that do not contribute to the general good

📝 Application Process

Interested organizations are invited to submit a project proposal by August 31, 2025 to the following email address: info@junior-albania.org.

Required Application Components

Each application must include:

  1. Project description explaining objectives and expected impact
  2. Implementation plan with deadlines and required resources
  3. Information about the applicant organization, including relevant experience
  4. Project budget plan
