📖 About Emmanuel College Artist-in-Residence Program
The Emmanuel College Artist-in-Residence Program is a short-term, campus-based residency designed to support both emerging and established artists by providing time, space, and institutional resources to develop new or ongoing work. Hosted by the Emmanuel College Art Department, the program brings together four artists for an intensive six-week creative period in Boston, Massachusetts.
🎁 Benefits of the Program
Participants in the program will receive the following benefits:
- A stipend of USD 1,500
- Campus lodging in Emmanuel College dormitories
- Access to a shared kitchen
- Full access to Art Department facilities
- Technical and logistical support from the Art Department studio manager
- Participation in a closing exhibition
- International artists may be eligible for up to an additional USD 1,000 to support travel and visa-related expenses.
✅ Program Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be an established or emerging artist working in Ceramics, Photography, Printmaking, or Social Practice.
- Not be currently enrolled in an academic degree program.
- Have conversational proficiency in English.
- Be able to reside on campus from June 8 to July 19, 2026.
- Cover their own material and food costs.
- International artists must secure the appropriate visa to participate.
🗓️ Application Date and Process
Applicants must submit a single PDF application by January 15, 2026. The PDF must include:
- A résumé or curriculum vitae.
- An artist statement.
- Twenty portfolio images with titles, dates, media, and brief descriptions.
- A project proposal outlining the work to be developed during the residency.
Note: All materials must be combined into one PDF file for submission.
