📖 About the Program

The Canada-Asia Young Professionals Fellowship Program is a nine-month, non-resident program designed for up to 20 current graduate students and young professionals aged 22-to-30. Participants should have prior knowledge of contemporary Asia and an interest in advancing Canada's relationship with the countries and people of that region.

Key Details

  • Program Duration: Mid-September 2025 to June 2026
  • In-Person Retreat: Early May 2026 at APF Canada's head office in Vancouver
  • Virtual Meetings: Once or twice monthly for 60 minutes (breaks during major holidays)

  • Overview of key issues and debates related to Canada's engagement with Asia
  • Q&A sessions with experts
  • Group discussions
  • Workshops to sharpen written and oral communication skills

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be aged 22-to-30 at the start of the fellowship (approx. September 16, 2025)
  • Hold a degree in political science, international relations, law, business, economics, Asian Studies, or a related program
  • Demonstrate interest in contemporary Asia and/or the Canada-Asia relationship through coursework, professional/volunteer experience, or lived experience
  • Be available for twice-monthly virtual meetings (60 minutes each)
  • Be available to travel to Vancouver for a two-day concluding event in early May 2026 (travel costs covered)
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

  3. Two-page cover letter addressing the program's requirements

Selection Process

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview
  • Successful applicants will be notified of their acceptance by late August 2025
