The Brower Youth Awards for Environmental Leadership is the signature event of the New Leaders Initiative. Each year, it honors six outstanding youth leaders aged 13-22 who are driving change in the environmental movement. The award celebrates achievements across various areas, including:

Protecting our seas
Cultivating food sovereignty and security
Improving air quality in frontline communities
Mobilizing youth around the climate emergency

🎁 Benefits of the Award

Recipients of the Brower Youth Awards will receive:

$3,000 cash prize
A short film co-produced about their work
A trip to participate in leadership development activities, including:
- Flight
- Meals
- Lodging accommodations
Post-event, winners join a global network of over 100 youth leaders making a difference worldwide.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the award, applicants must:

Be 13 to 22 years old (as of the application deadline)
Reside in North America, including Mexico, Canada, and U.S. territories

📝 Application Process

All applications must be completed and submitted online.
Applicants must complete their own application. Parents, friends, mentors, or teachers cannot complete it on their behalf.

Additional Requirements:

A photograph of yourself
If selected as a semifinalist, you will need to provide:
- A letter of support from someone familiar with your environmental work (cannot be from a parent or guardian)
