🏆 Benefits of the Awards

  • Maximum Grant Amount: £10,000.
  • Duration: Awards are for a minimum of 6 months and up to a maximum of 12 months.
  • Start Date: Projects must begin between 1 March 2026 and 31 March 2026.
  • Funding Use: 100% of the awarded funds must be used solely for the purposes outlined in the application and agreed upon in the award letter. The funds are not intended as time buy-out for the award-holder.

✅ Eligibility Criteria

Lead Applicants:

  • Must be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom.
  • Must have a current long-term appointment at a UK-based Higher Education Institution (HEI) or Independent Research Organisation (IRO), which will continue for the full duration of the proposed award.
  • Should be intending to pursue original, independent research in any field of study within the humanities or social sciences.
  • Applicants without a doctorate may demonstrate equivalent experience in the personal statement section.

Co-Applicants:

  • May be based in the UK or overseas.
  • Should have a doctorate, equivalent experience, or other specialist knowledge relevant to the aims of the scheme.
